Hi, I’m Tessa — the heart and hands behind Thou Art Studios — and that’s Fred, my soulful American Foxhound and creative sidekick here in Pittsford, NY.

Thou Art began as my personal rescue mission.

After years of serving in the U.S. Coast Guard and leading high-pressure teams at Tiffany & Co., Barneys New York, and David Yurman, I found myself utterly burnt out. The pace, the pressure, the perfection — it all left me drained.

Then one day, I picked up a paintbrush.

In the quiet glow of candles and the rhythm of good music, I painted my way back to myself. Night after night, I created not for results, but for relief — and something miraculous happened. I felt lighter. More alive. After a decade on antidepressants, I was finally free of them. Art had become not just a hobby, but a lifeline.

In 2018, I turned that lifeline into a launchpad — founding Thou Art Paint Parties to help others feel that same lift in spirit and spark of creative joy.

Since then, this project has grown into Thou Art Studios — a creative healing movement disguised as fun. Part gallery show, part dance club, part music video, part art therapy — my events are designed to awaken every energetic center in your body and every ounce of joy in your soul.

Every canvas becomes a keepsake. Every night becomes a memory. And everyone leaves feeling a little more like a creative genius.
